Introduction to Workspaces

Workspaces in Folktale provide a dedicated space for teams to collaborate, collect and manage stories, and track progress on projects. This guide covers everything Admins and Insights Managers need to know about navigating and managing a workspace efficiently.

This guide is for Admins and Insights Leads who need to create, manage, and navigate workspaces in Folktale.

🔑  What permissions are needed?

  • Admins can create and manage workspaces, billing, and settings.
  • Insights Leads can oversee projects and manage stories.
  • Field Reporters, Guests, and Viewers do not have access to workspace settings.

What is a Workspace?

A Workspace is a central hub where your team collaborates on projects, collects and manages stories, and shares insights.

Each workspace is independent and requires its own subscription. You can request a demo to explore how Folktale works before committing to a subscription.

💡 When you create a new workspace, you are automatically assigned as the Admin, giving you full control over settings, users, and management features. Learn more about Admin permissions in Folktale Roles and Permissions.

Who Has Access to My Workspace?

  • Admins can manage workspace settings, branding, billing, and team permissions.
  • Insights Leads can create projects, invite Field Reporters, and manage collected stories.
  • Field Reporters, Guests, and Contributors can contribute stories, but do not have access to workspace settings, projects, or the Story Library.

Navigating to My Workspace

On Desktop

  1. Sign in to your Folktale account.
  2. Click on your workspace name in the left navigation panel.

On Mobile

  1. Tap the menu icon in the top left corner.
  2. Select your workspace name from the expanded panel.

What Can I Do in My Workspace

Create and Manage Workspaces

  • Set up a new workspace to collaborate with your team.
  • Each workspace requires a separate subscription.
  • Request a demo or speak to sales to explore Folktale.

Create and Manage Projects

  • Organize story requests and contributions within projects.
  • Track project performance using the Project Dashboard.
