Sharing your Folktale story
When you share a story through Folktale, you’re doing more than sending a video.
You’re inviting someone into a real experience, a lived perspective. That story has the power to spark empathy, build community, and inspire action.
Whether you’re sharing with a friend, a donor, or a policymaker—make it meaningful.
💬 Before You Share: Answer These 3 Questions
To help your audience understand and care, include a short message that answers:
- What am I sharing?
“This is a short video captured by [name, role or community], telling a real story about…”
- Why am I sharing this with you?
“I think it’s important for you to see this because it speaks to [impact area / theme].”
- What do I want you to do?
“If this speaks to you, please [join, share, or contribute]. Your response makes a difference.”
How to share your story
Navigate to the story page you want to share
Click on the Share icon on the top right of your story.
Note: This will only appear if the sharing and visibility settings of the story permit this action.
- A pop-up will appear. From here, you can share a QR code, a URL, or manually enter the email address of those you want to share the story with.
