I got a blank screen when signing in
  1. Retry the sign-in steps with a different browser or with a private/incognito window.
  2. If it works on a different browser or a private/incognito window, please try clearing your browser's cache to see if it helps resolve the issue.
  3. If the issue persists after clearing the cache, please reach out to support@folktale.io and let us know:
    1. The device and browser you use.
    2. Share a screenshot of your full browser screen so we can investigate further.
"Send a link to my email" is greyed out
  • Enter your email – The button only activates after a valid email is typed.
  • Check formatting – No spaces, typos, or extra dots.
  • Refresh and retry – Reload the page and enter your email again.

If it still doesn’t work:

  • Try a different browser or incognito window.
  • Check spam/junk for the email.
  • Disable browser extensions or VPN.

A QR code screen appears when signing in

That QR code screen is generated by Chrome, not by Folktale.

  1. Tap or click Cancel, and you’ll return to our sign-in page.

Chrome sometimes shows its own QR generator view. You should only see our sign-in page during login, not the Chrome QR screen. If it pops up, just click Cancel.

I haven’t received the login link in my email
  • Check your Junk/Spam folder.
  • Sometimes emails arrive right away, sometimes they take a few minutes.
  • If nothing comes after 10 minutes, email us at support@folktale.io.
What is Okta, and is it for me?

Okta helps organizations centralize all logins in one place, so the IT department can manage them securely.

  • If you are logging in through your organization, they may have turned on Okta for Folktale. Check with your IT team to confirm, since not all organizations use it.
  • If you are using Folktale on your own, you don’t need Okta.

What is a passkey?

A passkey lets you log in without a password. It uses your phone or another device to check if it's really you.

If you don’t have Passkey set up, simply type in your email, and a link will be sent to your email.
