Add a Passkey to Your Account

Enhance your Folktale account security with a passkey. Passkeys provide a higher level of security and allow easy sign-in using fingerprint, Face ID, or a PIN.

This guide is for Folktale users who want to add a passkey for secure and convenient login.

🔑 What permissions are needed?

  • A Folktale account with access to the Profile page.
  • A supported device for passkey authentication. Check device compatibility here.

What is a Passkey?

A passkey is a modern, secure authentication method that replaces traditional sign-in methods. It allows you to log in quickly and safely using biometric authentication (fingerprint or Face ID), a PIN, or a security key. Passkeys reduce the risk of phishing and credential theft, offering a seamless sign-in experience.

If you are creating a new user account, skip ahead to Step Two: Create Your Passkey.

Step One: Go to Your Profile Page

  1. Sign in to your Folktale account.
  2. Click on your profile at the top right of your screen.
  3. Select Profile to go to your Profile page.
  4. In the Profile page, click Security to expand the section.
  5. Scroll down until you see the Create a passkey option.

Step Two: Create Your Passkey

  1. Verify that you’re human by completing the verification process.
  2. Click Create a Passkey for Signing In to continue.
  3. A message will appear prompting you to set up a passkey using Touch ID, Face ID, or other verification methods.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
  5. Once created, your passkeys will be listed under the Security section.

Step Three: Manage Your Passkey

Rename a Passkey

  • Click the pencil icon (✏️) next to a passkey.
  • Enter a new name and click anywhere outside the box to save.

Remove a Passkey

  • Click the X button (❌) to delete a passkey.

🎉  Success! You can now use your passkey to sign in securely to Folktale.
