What is Single Sign-On (SSO)?
Folktale now supports Single Sign-On (SSO), which simplifies username and password management for your organization.
SSO lets your organization easily track and control your team's access to Folktale workspaces, ensuring a more secure and efficient login process.
How to get started with SSO?
Send an email to support@folktale.io with the following information:
- The email address of your organization admin
- The domain you want to use with SSO
You can provide multiple email addresses and domains.
Once we receive the email, we will add them to your organization. Please note that this will take up to 3 business days.
In the meantime, you need to create a Folktale account using the email address of your organization admin. This will grant access to your organization admin to manage and configure your organization settings page. We will let you know once it's ready.
Once the process is done, learn how to manage SSO settings below.
Step One: Go to the organization settings page
Once you sign in, click on your profile at the top right of your screen and click Settings. You'll be taken to the organization settings page.
💡 Please note that access to the organization settings page is limited to the organization admin only.
Step Two: Manage admins of the organization
In the Admins section, you can see a list of email addresses assigned to the organization admin.
To add a new admin, type an email address into the box and click Add admin. On the other hand, you can click the Delete button next to their email address to remove an admin.
Step Three: Select your authentication method
Scroll down to the Domains section and decide how would you like your team in each domain to authenticate when they sign in. Folktale currently supports three authentication methods:
Any (SSO Optional)
Selecting this option will let your team sign in using any method they prefer. They can sign in with an email address and password, sign in with Google, sign in with a passkey, as well as Google SSO or Okta SSO.
It is recommended to select this option if you're still testing the Google SSO or Okta SSO.
Google SSO
By selecting this method, your team will be required to sign in using their Google account. This means they will not be able to sign in using their email address and password, sign in with a passkey for authentication, or sign in with Okta SSO.
Okta SSO
By selecting this method, your team will be required to sign in using Okta. Use the settings provided in the Okta SSO section when creating your app integration in Okta.
⚠️ Once you're done setting up SSO, please test your SSO settings and see if you can sign in with SSO. Failure to do so may result in all users for your organization being prevented from signing in.
