Create a story using a Story Preset

A guide for Field Reporters to create multiple stories on demand using pre-defined parameters.

Overview

What is a Story Preset?

A Story Preset is a feature that allows you to easily capture multiple story contributions where and when you choose, using parameters defined by your Insights Manager.

With a Story Preset, you can:

  • Generate stories ad-hoc without having to wait for a Story Invitation.

  • Create stories even when you are offline, meaning that stories can be captured anywhere, anytime.

Step One: Find your Story Preset

a) Finding your Story Preset on your Home page

Once you sign in, you'll be taken to your Home page. Click on the Create tab to access all available Story Presets.

b) Finding your Story Preset on your My Stories page

Alternatively, you can navigate to your My Stories page and find all Story Presets available to you under the Presets section.

Your Story Preset will sync automatically every time you are connected to the internet. If there are multiple presets for different projects, you will see them in the order in which they were created.

Step Two: Create a story using a Story Preset

To begin, select the preset that you want to use for creating your story.

💡 You can access the Create story button even if you do not have an internet connection!

If you are currently on your Home page, click on the preset to be directed to a new page where you can begin creating your story.

If you are on your My Stories page, click on the Create Story button to start.

If you're ready to record, check Recording and submitting your Folktale story for the next step.

However, if you want to record your story later, you can scroll down and press Back to My Stories. This will take you to your My Stories page.

Stories created from a preset will initially be kept local to the device and will appear in the Pending section with an ON DEVICE label.
