Projects in Folktale help organize story collection efforts by grouping related contributions under a shared goal. Whether tracking stories for a specific initiative, event, or reporting requirement, setting up a project ensures clarity and structure from the start.

If you're responsible for organizing story collection, creating a project helps streamline contributions, track progress, and provide a clear structure for Insights Managers and Contributors.

What is a Project?
A project in Folktale provides a dedicated space to collect and manage stories. Projects allow Admins to:
- Group story requests and contributions for better tracking.
- Align story collection with specific goals, initiatives, or reporting timelines.
- Set clear expectations for contributors and Insights Managers.

Adding a Project
- On Desktop: Click on your workspace name in the left navigation panel.
- On Mobile: Press the menu button, then select your workspace name.
- Click Add a project to open the project creation page.
If you donβt have any projects yet, youβll see a Create project button.
Adding Project Details
- Enter a project name and add a cover image.
- Select an icon and color to help distinguish your project.
- Provide a description and goal to give context to Insights Managers.
- Set a target completion date (optional) to:
- Keep story collection within a defined timeframe.
- Assist Insights Managers in managing reporting deadlines.
- Enable or disable automated captions by checking or unchecking Generate video caption files automatically in this project.
- Click Create this project to finalize setup.
Next Steps
Your project is now ready! You can start collecting stories by sending a Story Invitation or creating a Story Preset.
