What is a Project?

A project in Folktale provides a dedicated space to collect and manage stories. Projects allow Admins to:

  • Group story requests and contributions for better tracking.
  • Align story collection with specific goals, initiatives, or reporting timelines.
  • Set clear expectations for contributors and Insights Managers.

Adding a Project

  1. On Desktop: Click on your workspace name in the left navigation panel.
  2. On Mobile: Press the menu button, then select your workspace name.
  3. Click Add a project to open the project creation page.

If you don’t have any projects yet, you’ll see a Create project button.


Adding Project Details

  1. Enter a project name and add a cover image.
  2. Select an icon and color to help distinguish your project.
  3. Provide a description and goal to give context to Insights Managers.
  4. Set a target completion date (optional) to:
    • Keep story collection within a defined timeframe.
    • Assist Insights Managers in managing reporting deadlines.
  5. Enable or disable automated captions by checking or unchecking Generate video caption files automatically in this project.
  6. Click Create this project to finalize setup.

Next Steps

Your project is now ready! You can start collecting stories by sending a Story Invitation or creating a Story Preset.
