Preparing for Offline Mode

This guide is for Field Reporters and Contributors who need to record stories in offline mode.

It walks you through the key steps to prepare before losing internet access, including signing in, syncing Story Invitations and Presets, and confirming your data.

Before going offline, there are a few key steps to ensure you’re prepared.

Steps to Take Before Going Offline

• Sign in and access your homepage
• Accept active Story Invitations
• Ensure you have the right presets
• Confirm readiness

Sign In and Access Your Homepage

1. Sign In to Your Account

• Go to portal.folktale.io.
• Enter your credentials and sign in.

2. Click on Home

• Once signed in, click Home to access your dashboard.

3. Confirm Your Homepage

• This is where your offline activities will take place.
• Ensure that your pending Story Invitations and Story Presets are visible.

Accept Active Story Invitations

1. Open Your Inbox

• Click on Inbox to view your pending Story Invitations.

2. Open Invitations

• Click on any invitations you plan to use while offline.

3. Accept Invitations

• Click Accept to add them to your drafts.

4. Open the Menu

• Click the Menu icon to navigate back to your homepage.

5. Return to Home

• Click Home to check your accepted invitations.

6. Click on Drafts

• This will show your saved Story Invitations.

7. Confirm Invitations Are Available

• If you see your invitations here, you will be able to use them without an internet connection.

Ensure You Have the Right Presets

1. Click on Home

• Navigate back to the Home page.

2. Click on Create

• Open the Create section to check your available presets.

3. Confirm Your Presets

• Ensure the Story Presets you need are listed here.
